DESCENSO AL INFIERNO
[2014-2015] Contemporary butoh piece. It is meant to push physical boundaries through external agents. The body is put in a state of distress; elements such as ice, clay, rice, fire and water were used to experience severe temperature changes, itchiness and spasms. Completely natural corporal reactions are used to explore new means of expression and focus on the non voyeuristic display of nudity. This piece is a free interpretation of Virgil's Aeneid.
Co-creation and interpretation with Fred Herrera, Luisa Román, Daniel Cubillo, César Alvarado and Felipe González.
First Iberoamerican Festival of Butoh Dance. Supported by IBERESCENA. San José, Costa Rica.
